| Choice of note-bars | |||
| Padouk is a softer, lighter wood than Honduras rosewood. It produces a lighter, yet a quality sound from the instrument. If buying within a tight budget, choosing padouk gives you extra flexibilty,yet still offering an excellent instrument. | |||
| Choosing Honduras rosewood for the note-bars is, of course, reflected in the price, but does offer the ultimate, mellow marimba sound one expects from a top class instrument. With care, the note-bars should last a lifetime. | |||
| If you need extra durability or you play marimba outdoors(such as in a marching band) then the Synthetic note bars (coded K ) are essential. | |||
